The Texas Betta Society is hosting our very first District show this weekend in Southlake. There will be lots of beautiful fish, many of which are sitting on my dining room table as I type
I just got a huuge box with over a dozen auction only fish,along with some show babies, and a couple boxes yesterday. The rest should be rolling in later today and tomorrow.This show is small beans compared to our upcoming International show in June. Right now we expect to host around 100+ fish,but in June it will be well over 500. So we have a lot to learn. And a LOT to keep track of but I have confidence in us
We could use any help we can get so if anybody wants to stop by...
We'll also have a PET betta class so if you want to enter your fish now is the time.
Our June show is going to have a massive wild class, the first time it has ever been promoted in such a fashion. Many of the breeders from overseas will be able to show wilds for the first time. So they're sending a lot in. We will auction them online as well as in person. I need to somehow figure out a way that the online auctions can run at the same time as the live auction. It should be really neat. We'll have Gerald Griffin,who is the head of the IBC SMP, as a guest speaker, as well as Jim Sonnier and Linda Olson. I've heard that several breeders who are interested in wilds plan to come for the show as well....or come for the fish, whichever
I'll let you guys know how the District show goes...wish us luck!! We need it!
I have the utmost confidence though...I just don't want to get anybodies non-auction fish mixed up with auction fish. That's one of the worst things that could happen (I've seen it happen!
)
I've grown accustomed to her crying wolf for the past few weeks (she has a bird chasing obsession) but she was spot on this time.
