Snails?

There is a stickied thread with regards pest snails here:

As you can see, buried in there is a reference I make to Flubenol 15 (but not to Discuss wormer) and how I use it in regards to ridding a tank of pest snails.

ShoC, do you have a product name / link that you are using, i.e. the Discus wormer product please?

I also put forward a small thread about sanitizing plants BEFORE you put them in the tank (prevention is betterthan a cure after all! :shifty: )

Cheers again,

Andy

[edit]: BTW, did I mention that Flubenol is nigh on impossible to overdose, as it is safe up to 20 times the recommended dose! How's that for safe!

Just got the snail killer by eSHa, see how it goes.

I was not aware there was a reference to Flubenol in there..

sorry my Name was innacurate (wormer plus is the name)

Having good sucess with it

p.s Underwurlde I just reads the pinned topic and it's in dire need of an update.
Most people just read the top and not below the first post (like myself)

@ShoC: Ti's the way with pin's & threads really... you've got to wade through it all and make your mind up!

@SJ2K, is that eSHa 'Gastroplex'? Dunno about that stuff, do not know what is in it really, so a bit of an unknown you are dumping into your tank there mate. (A quick 10min Google search on 'esha snail killer active ingredient' etc, yeilded no useful results).

Judging by the fact that it also claims to cure bacterial (in other words, algae) blooms, then I would be thinking that this is a copper based product. I do not know this for sure, I am guessing, but other known copper based snail killing products (such as King British) also claim to be able to kill off algae blooms, so go figure.

Really what I am saying, the bottom line, is personally because I don't know what is in it and the manufacturer is not polite enough to tell me what chemicals they want me to bung mindlessly into my tank, would I use it? Hell no!

Perhaps some knowledgeable person out there does know of the active ingredient in this product?

Cheers,

Andy

Thanks Jenny. This is true unfortuantely. Hopefully, this is only a short term thing and should become available again in the near future, fingers crossed...

Andy

I'm using Wormer Plus as the same thing....IPs with my puffers, although I only use it once every 6 months or so as a precautionary measure or if they look a little sunken bellied and haven't used it as a de-snailer. :D
