Snails Everywhere

My uncle has a controlled population of snails in his tank they stay under control but i don't know what keeps them in check all there is in the tank is corys and 1 cichlid

Some cichlids will eat snails; or maybe your uncle is just a good fishkeeper who doesn't overfeed his tank :)

Than I think that is part of the reason his snail population doesn't get out of control.

Snails cause no problems in tanks; unless lots of them happen to die at once.

The main cause of mass infestations of snails is over feeding; reduce the amount of food you give the fish, and the snails will naturally (and gradually) reduce in numbers.

There is absolutely no need to kill them or get rid of htem; they are part of a normal tank eco sytem and do very valuable work turning over substrate and eating left over food and dead plants.
Okay sounds good! I like to have some, just not hundreds, they poop everywhere. ya know?

Try having 600+ apple snails in a tank....then you will know what poo is

When I have a snail outbreak, I prepare a spare tank with dechlorinated water. I treat all decorations, filters, heaters, air pump pipes, tank walls, just anything in the tank, with chlorine bleach mixed with water. Like 20% bleach solution.

I use a less strong solution for plants. look on the internet for the right amount to use. :3 I forget. Maybe 5% bleach dip for 30 secs or 1 min... i dunno if it's too strong, so test with a tiny bit of plants at a time.

I wipe down the outside of the tank with bleach also. I rinse everything touched with bleach well with warm water, let it dry and evaporate. Fill it up with water and add 5 times more dechlorinating drops than I normally would just to be safe. Test the water parameters. If it's safe, add your fish back in :3

Do you mean apple snails or pond snails? Are they babies or adults. If they are adults they need to be re-homed. They need 1.5 USD gallons of water each. That would mean you would need about a 900 gallon tank to just hold them all. I'm just saying this because many people don't care for their snails like they do with their fish. I was apart of AppleSnail.net for a very long time, can you tell. ;)

Still unable to spot a breeder too.
