snail question

got a ramshorn snail to help with the alge in my 55 since I can't get anything in there that bert won't eat and of course this was a spur of the moment purchase and this darn snail doesn't seem to want anything to do with the alge instead all he wants is to munch on some floating plants that I have in there.

Try getting a golden snail. I have quite a few spread thru out all my tanks and they dont touch my plants.

i dont know aht mine is hes got a yellow shell and is white i put a lot of fish in my tank and i have not seen any fish try to hert him but he wont come out of his shell its spring where i live and its water temp is 25c or 78-80f is he sleeping or is he dead how do u tell if hes dead

Maybe they're nocturnal?

Yeah, alot of people acll them apple snails. They get pretty large...

How long have you had him? Try putting some food a little way in front of him and see if he moves along to get to it.

There is a variety of apple snails with the gold shells. There are also mystery snails that dont get as large. Mine will only get as big as a golf ball. Apple snails will get abit larger.
