I have a 95 litre tank of Neon Tetra and Dwarf Gourami, plus many live plants.
The least month or so I have become infested with small snails on the glass, the gravel, and the plant leaves.
I change 20% of my water weekly.
Can someone please advise me of a product, or method, which will enable me to get rid of the snails.
Thanks

get yourself a couple of yo yo loaches if u have room. however bare in mind they can grow upto 6inches (some i understand have grown to 7") mine are about 4". they r great fun to watch (they dig in the gravel and keep it turned over) and keep a snail population under control

Keep in mind that loaches, which generally like to dig and burrow, may wreak havock on live plants.

Yes - it is the same snail as cyprinut put in the picture.
I have read the link also - thanks.
I will try cutting down on food levels, and also squashing them manually against the glass.
Any other ideas ?
Thanks.

Im not an expert but from my experience and what i have been advised get a CLOWN LOACH... it will only ever grow to the size of its environment and will get RID of your snail problem.. have a 11gal tank and the loach loved it, got rid of all the snails except my malaysian trumpet snails (which i didnt mind because they help maintain my tank!).

The Clown Loach is a great fish... there funni to watch as they get up to and do all sorts! Its a friendly fish which got on with my mollies, platies and neons!

A GREAT addition to a tank!!

I never actually saw him eat a snail but they were all gone..! (i had hundreds of the nasty plant destroyers!)

Dont waste your money on anti-snail treatments... the most they do is stun the snails and fall to the gravel, they can be removed but is time consuming, annoying and a waste of time!! No matter how many you remove you never get them all out and they multiply soooooooooo fast!

As i have said in the other topic!

this statement is so wrong, they may seem to stop growing and might on the outside but on the inside there organs will continue to grow causeing them to die at a much younger age, they are also social creatures so shouldn't be kept alone!

there is a species of snail eating snail that i can't remember the name of but it reproduces at a lower rate and is more attractive looking than your common pest snail

Plus this topic is from 2005!

A trio of small botia keep my 4 footer clear of the ****ers !!!! Beats me why anyone WANTS snails !!!

Do what I do - squish them between your fingers and drop them in for the fish! They love them and they re a great source of protien!

My gourami and 2 rams will take them from my hand! When I sit at the tank my rams will rush off to point them out by swimming a couple of milimeters away from them standing stock still and staring at them !!
