I'm thinking of getting a few cool looking snails to keep my tank happier. I've attached a picture of my only real plant because I don't know what it is and I don't want the snails to think of it as lunch. It sends out a long root and a new plant comes from that. Any advice please.

I concur. Nerite snails won’t eat the plant, but they will leave annoying white eggs everywhere. (If they are females)

There are a few different varieties. (They also don’t reproduce in freshwater - the eggs won’t hatch)

The only other choice in the UK is rabbit/Sulawsi/faunus snails though these do breed.
