Smelly Tank

my tank is smelling, i do water changes once a week and my fish always east al the food i give them but i dont kno how to stp the tank smellin, any ideas?? plz help im a newbe xx

2 adult platies, 4 babie platies (in a breedin tank), 2 female fighters, 2 panda coradoras and 2 worm things (cant rememba wat they r called sorry)

fish do have a great sense of smell XD but it also depends ion the room their in. Mines in the main hall of my house were I wonder by everday to feed them. My tank smells....hard to really give the smell a name

I had mine not smell for a while, I got new filters and sponges and such....but it doesn't seem to bwe working now, maybe it's the bog wood I have in it. It's probable that.
Are the worm things loaches? I have some of those XD very entertaining to watch

yeah they r loaches and they r like a yellow colour wov brown stripes. i only have 2 but was thinkin on gettin a few more,

wel mine is in my room, its not a really bad smel but when i got 2 smel the water thats when u can smel it sorta thing, i only have plants in there and change them every so often, my cold water tank down stairs doesnt smel tho x

have you ever taken all the water out and done a complete clean and started over from scratch, I did and it seemed to work for a period of time. :3 then I put the bog wood in and it went smelly. Goldfish make tanks smelly fast to

no i havnt, i have done a 50% water change tho, i thought u wasnt ment 2 do a ful water change coz yr b takin al the gd bacteria out, but anyway u kno more than me so do u recon it is worth me doin a ful water change 2moro? x

hmmm I don't know if you want to try or not I'm no expert but I did do the full change, but don't do it if you're not sure as I'd feel so bad if somehting went wrong. :3 hope whatever you do goes well, I have to go

i wouldnt do a full water change, because then you have to start all over with the cycle.. the amonia will spike and kill your non-hardy fish, like your platys..

ok thanks 4 the advice, would it b ok if i did something like a 75% water change?
