Hey all!
I've got a problem trying to heat a 2 1/2 gal tank. Bought a 25watt Hagen and I can't seem to get it to shut off. Basically the only temp it is comfortable with is "fish stew". It seems to be the only small heater I can find. I know there are small stick on heaters [for hermit crabs and such] but you can't really regulate those. Any suggestions other than heat the room?
thanks in advance,
jeffb

Not sure if it helps, but I've bought heaters before (larger ones) that also refused to shut off. I think there may just be something wrong with your heater (edit: or more to the point, the thermostat in the heater).

I agree with Bol. Sounds like you got a bad unit. The thermostat in the heater is probably not functioning properly to shut off the heater when the heater reaches a certain temperature. If it's adjustable, make sure you've turned down the setting (I assume you already have done this). Otherwise, replace the heater.

Ive had two heaters that did that finaly I got a Acura heater and its great. The two were both ones that come with All-Glass kits.
