When I was younger, I always liked a type of cat called the "Slender Madtom". It's native to Missouri. When I was younger I had one in a 10 gallon tank along with some other natives.

I was wondering recently, would one of them stay happy and healthy in one of those 1 gallon aquaview tanks?

Thanks,

Jacob Keogh

There is no fish that can be put comfortably into a 1 gallon tank

So, what is the smallest tank I should use without Making the fish seem closed in? My Missouri Catfish identification manual says they get 3 to 5 around here.

What is your question? I'm a bit puzzled by what you are asking? Your Missouri Catfish id manual says you should use 3 to 5 what?? :/ :S :S :S :S :S

What is the least gallon tank I can use on this fish. And my Catfish ID manual says Slender Madtoms get 3 to 5 inches long.

'Slender Madtom' get to 6" long. It will need ample space and a 20 gallon tank is absolute minimum. Even a 10 gallon tank is way too small. And those 1 gallon tanks are just a crime in the fish keeping industry. There is absolutely no fish you could keep in there. Maybe a single Daphnia will be ok in there by himself. :hey:

Think dimensions more than gallonage - a minimum tank size is at least twice the fish's length for the width and height, and 4 times for the length, so in this case, a min of 24" x 12" x 12" tank will be required. Obviously always go larger if you can.
