Hi all, i have a pregnant guppy about to go from my 90 gallon into an empty 10 gallon
when shes done i want to add just a single fish and a few plants as ive always had community tanks.
So does anyone have any suggestions on what fish would be suitable for a solitary existance
Cheers

A betta, but theyre rather small. So get a giant betta.

A red-eyed puffer, or a betta or dwarf gourami. Or do a species tank with a couple of dwarf puffers.

ok ive kept dwarf puffers and fighters an loved them both,
so ill take a vote,
the fish with the most votes will have a 10 gallon tank specially designed just for him.
so folks ill give it 7 days and the most votes takes the prize,
ill post the winner in his/her new home.
thanks in advance,
cheers Paul :hey:

paradise fish if you can find a nice one. personality is much like a betta, but they're a little bigger and not nearly as common.... not anymore anyway

perhaps something different than a fish?

a ten gallon tank would work well for ONE african clawed frog, or a group of african dwarf frogs :good:

Oh. I quite agree with a betta or a gourami.

Might I also suggest a sorority of female betta?

You could also put newts in there...

(surely that counts as more than one lol).

Why don't you take the suggestions people have said and go looking for them locally and watch them for a bit to see if you like the way they swim/behave/act etc.

My betta gets over excited when I enter the room :)
