This is really peeving me off actually. There are lots of threads all over that place which are now suddenly active but many years old.

I am afraid I too have had a change of heart about the similar posts section

The amount of old threads revived is getting pretty annoying. One may argue that a thread of any age is useful but I am yet to see an old dug up thread that has been of any value. At first I thought it would just be a small teething issue but the problem is that newbies don't think to look at how old a thread is before replying.

Unless it is adapted in some way I don't think that the similar posts section is suitable for a forum that has been running for several years with hundreds of thousands of old "similar posts".

Today - 3 posts revived on Bettas, 1 was one year old, 1 was 2 years old and another 4 years old!!

Its getting pathetic

oh, for pete's sake...

William is aware of the concerns about it and is looking into what can be done to get a pop-up box warning that it is an old thread.

I am continuing to try and get into contact with them to try and resolve this, but until I am able to there is not much I can report back or do about it I am afraid. If anyone here has an advanced knowledge of PHP or knows a way of doing this then I would like to hear from them.

That is the official status. Until then... at least read the original post and check its date before adding to a thread.

(Although I know that I certainly look forward to an Old Post Warning)
