In my tank i have got 3 silver sharks, well, i had 3 anyway. 1 has now gone missing, i have cleaned the tabk but no sign of it so i can only assume it died and got eaten before i noticed.

Anyway, of the remaining 2 one is looking very healthy, nice silver colour, the fins have a lovely black patern and it all looks good, the other one however doesnt look so healthy. Its more white han silver and smaller than the other one.

They are both young, maybe 4-5 months but they were both the same size when i got them. They have been eating fine, they both swim fine, active e.t.c. and behaviour wise they both seem healthy...

any ideas to what it could be? is 1 just a bit of a runt or is this the start of problems??

cheers

Hi, what size tank are they in and was the tank cycled before adding any fish?

yes, tank was cycled, its reading have been zero for a long time now. They are in a 4ft tank at the moment, i know this is a touch too small but waiting on my 6ft tank to arrive. they are still only 2 inches at the mo so plenty of room for them...

the dead fish would produce ammonia as it rots, then your remaining ones might get sick, im not totally sure about this, maybe someone can second opinion this.

I have been testing the water recently and all is good. The missing fish is puzzeling but i can only assume that it got eaten quickly...

I have a feeling that its just a bit of a runt, its a healthy fish, swims well, interacts, is there at feeding e.t.c.

my guess is its jammed somewhere ( the body i mean) and making/going to make a mess of the water :/ have a good look all around the tank.. and even inside caves etc
