97.4% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

But the polls dont lie and the statistics from here http://www.fishforums.net/content/Tropical...stom-Aquariums/ show that of everyone who has wanted a very large tank less than 10% have actually ever built one, and that over 65% of all that voted would only be willing to spend up to £1000 on setting up a large aquarium in their current financial situation. This forum gives a pretty good cross section of people in the fish keeping hobby covering all ages and types so unless deliberately screwed with the poll should give a fair indication of how rare these tanks are.

So you can't blame people for being skeptical that anyone will actually get around to having these monster sized tanks built, my own monster tank was in the planning stage for over 18 months and originally started out in idea as a 1500g brick built pond with a window, but building cost and design problems meant the project had to be scaled down. Now i'm a 30 year old with a well paid full time job and my own house with the luxurey of a seperate building to keep my fish in, but i wonder just how many people didn't believe that i would get the tank built?

I never disagreed with it, just saying obviously the statistic was made up (how can you say something as a fact when it isn't proven?!), you can't fit Adams situation into it anyway since he said he would be upgrading, he didn't just 'think'.Its completely different..Everyones thought about getting a large...or monster tank, but on closer inspection many people had not got enough space etc, as shown in the poll.
'80% of monster tanks don't happen'
Someone said, saying that can mean a lot of different things.

I'm not blaming people for being skeptical, I'm skeptical, but as I said first off wait and see, and stop whining about it, all its done is filled a 10 page thread up with opinions which are off-topic.
...to answer your Q,with your previous, and current situation (I take it you still work full time), I would of thought, unless you were unreliable, that you would get it built...Which you have, so preps to you being one of the 10% who have

I am sure that Adam has the fishes best interests at heart and therefore would love to see him set up a larger tank (downstairs obviously). Adam, keep us posted and good luck in getting the new tank! :good:
