Just wondering if a guy can rig a external filter onto the same line as a chiller... so the water will leave the tank go through the filter and then into the chiller and back into the tank? yes / no / or am I being stupid? or will the filter pump not last cos of the extra distance?
Thanks.

It would be smarter to have the chiller on the return line to the tank as opposed to the supply line to the filter, but yeah you can do that. Have to make sure the flowrate reccomended for the chiller somewhat matches the flowrate of the filter though...

so the flow rate of the chiller is 250~1200L/Hr and the rate of the external is 680L/Hr at full open... you think the flow back into the tank will be ok?

Your L/ph sounds fine, just be careful with the pipe size. Im doing the same in next week or 2 and i luckily got a ehiem that was same pipe size as the chiller jsut to be safe.

Agreed, flows match pretty well now just try and get similar pipe sizes.
