Sick Gourami? White String Coming Off...

So i just set up a new 30 gallon tank, with one turqouise striped gourami, 4 neon tetras, 2 glass fish, and 1 pleco. The other fish seem to be doing great, but my gourami has just been floating near the top of the water, like he is gasping for air, and a stringy semi-transparent string is hanging off of him... does he need some medication?

we are in a similar boat as one our turqouise gouramis is doing the same thing but it is also missing a 'feeler' any one have any advice?

this is what i too experianced.
But Guramis take direct air , thats way thay come to top
no symptom of medication it needs
