some of my fish have stopped eating and have a very red enlarged anus is this a bacterial problem that i can cure with interpet internal bacteria meds or is it something more serious and if so what meds would be best i would get maracyn plus but i cant get it easily in the UK and would need to import it please advise

stats are

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0.2
pH 6.4
temp 29c
40% water changes twice a week using tetra aquasafe no new additions
feeding is twice daily on NLS high growth formula and frozen and live foods

could it be caused by the live foods ?

Are there any worms sticking out the hole ( don`t mean to be rude )
If so it could be Calamanus worms.

It could also be Bloat.
What species of fish are sick and what frozen and live foods are you feeding them.

no worms sticking out no

the frozen foods are bloodworm, tubifex, cyclops, daphnia, brineshrimp and beef heart
the live foods are grindel worm and white worm

the sick fish are 2 angels 1 checkerboard cichlid 2 blue rams 4 L134 leopard frog plecs and 2 laetacara

also this is in 2 tanks the other 3 tanks are fine at the moment

First of all I would never feed Bloodworm or Tubefex to fish for the following reasons.
1 Both can and do carry parasites. Tubefex in particular in the wild grows in stagnant filthy mud pools.
I dont know how the grow it commercially but I would stay well clear.
Bloodworm has very little nutritional value what so eveand fish can become addicted to it and refuse to eat anything else.

Beefheart is also a disaster waiting to happen.
Commercial Discus breeders feed it to their fish to bulk them up and increase growth. Apart from Piranha and sharks I could
not recommend feeding any Animal meet to your fish.

Bacially looking at your foods ( apart from the BW ) they are all really high in protein. Their diet is way too rich. I think is could be causing bloat
although it does look like it is an internal bacterium that is causing the problem.

First things first I would do a big water change.
Second I would ease back on the frozen foods to once or twice a week. Dump the bloodworm, Beefheart and Tubefex. These are definitely having a negative
effect on your fish and could have caused the infection.
Change your food to a good quality flake, Spirolina and dry pellet food.
Thirdly I would treat with Metronidazole or clout. A vet will give you Metro. If not try to get Clout over the net. ASAIK it is illegal in Britain and Ireland
but can be bought from the states. I will look up the dosages of Metro as I have not keep fresh water in years and only got back into Tropical fish keeping
five months ago. I had been keeping Marine for the last four years.
If your fish are eating then Metro can be fed to them soaked in the food. Soak some flake in fish water with a half tablet of metro and feed it to them
twice a day.

Keep up the water changes and let us know how you get on.

Red inflamed anus can be constipation, dropsy, internal parasites.

What do you feed your fish.

is the fish skinny or bloated.
Are scales sticking out.
Any worms prutruding from the anus.
Is the belly sunken in.
Does the fish swim on it's side.
When the fish goes to the toilet does it look long white stringy, or clear mucas poo, or red poo.
Any fish with bent spines.

Going by your pm -

If the fish have sunken in belly and are skinny, I would treat for internal parasites.

Also there fish tb but I haven't seen a fish anus look red and inflamed. So I would take the internal parasite route.
Also the symtoms can point to a bacterial infection.

What does it look like when your fish go to the toilet.
