Hello,

I have a betta which appears to have a bacteria infection... white/brown/etc stuff around the mouth, deteriorating fins, lethargic... the works. Seems to eat alright.

My local tropical fish store recommended a product called Simply Betta. I put the betta into isolation and used it according to instructions for four doses over the course of a week or so... no change.

I was wondering if anyone has used this product and could tell me how long it takes for treatment to be complete or any other information that can help get him better.

FYI, he normally resides in a 20gallon tank with a variety of fish, very happily I might add.

Alot of people sware by Melafix or Betafix, i have a bottle but have had no real use for it touch wood. I would have thought the other treatment will have started to work by now. Hope this helps a little but i'm sure the experts on here can give you some better advise

I have never heard of Simply Betta, I use melafix and pimafix, both show results of treatment quite quickly, see if you might be able to find some possibly

I called the petstore by my work but they were out of stock, so I'm going to one tomorrow to get some Bettafix. Meanwhile I'm treating him with the Simply Betta. I know "can't hurt" is a bad phrase to say most of the time, but it really can't as I am medicating him as per instructions and all that.
