Siamese Twin Red Arowanas

Conjoined twins have little to do with genetics and more to do with an embryo that began to split into two identical twins too late in development, so that the split was incomplete ;)

i sure as hell would do everything i could to keep my dog alive, the only family i got.
yeah i may have over reacted, it looks pritty bad it should be killed. But the first one was swimming around fine, didnt need to be killed.
different opinions. meh agree to disagree, lets move on.

well me personally if my dog was in a bad way and was never going to walk again and had brain damage i would put it to sleep and so do millions of other people every year its called being humain

the aro that has the other dead looking aro attached to it looks like it chould be helped out buy trying to seperate the 2 no more than they would try to do with human children that are joined

buy leaving the dead looking fish still attached it is risking the life of the top healthy top fish

But recent studies show that thier may be a gene that predetermines even these flukes that were once thought of as "random chance occurences".

I think everything that happens is in your genetic code, even things like this.

i personally would of ended its life asap, i wouldn't want any animal to suffer even if it is "just a fish"

but i suppose everyone has there own opinions so dont let it get out of hand guys

You personally may have a mother and a father. My dog is all i got. Just want to justify why i said that.

so what if the dog is the only thing you have you would let it suffer just to keep you happy thats selfish if you ask me

 , i only wanted to show my find on the internet... ok

Conclusion...

deformed fish should be culled. but when a rare find like this is found most people take pictures.. keep alive and when it getsto hard cull it. its wrong but some rare finds like this are ket alive for popularity and theres nothing to stop it.

i agree now due to great explanations that any fish should really be culled if its derformed.

this fish was never found most asian aros are captive bred someone has taken the fry from the father see this and shoved food down it to keep it alive to make some cash from owning a freek

well im sorry thats wrong

T1KARMANN, I don't think DiscusAngel meant "found" the way you interpreted it... I'm pretty sure they meant it was discovered in a spawn.

Personally, I think profoundly disabled people should be humanely euthanized early on too. Something is wrong when we can't afford our own kind the same courtesy we afford our pets.
Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. :p

Morally, the fish should have been euthanized. However, the scientist in me (who accounts for most of my personality) finds it fascinating and can justify keeping it alive to study and observe it.

Im kinda torn in between.  I know it's ethically and moraly right to end it's life  but at the same time I don't like things getting killed.

wow that's freaky... but it looks a bit photoshopped lol... mabye not, can't tell that much lol

i dont know about every1 1 else but when i keep fish i try and keep them in conditions their in when wild and in the wild it wouldnt survive (suvival of the fittest) it WOULD of died so should of been culled

So, should all human conjoined twins be culled at birth? Should we just kill them because they would not survive in the wildreness, or cant walk? paper bag, brick, conjoined twin? i think not.

I would agree in this particular case, after viewing the videos of the fish, i'd say the little guy on the bottom is liveing a pretty crappy life. Somthing should be done to surgically seperate them. But there are a ton of people who live crappy lives, and have to have food shoved down thier thraots yet we keep them around. So easy to say "just cull it" to fish, but when it comes to humans we do just about everything in our power to keep the particularly weak alive.

im sorry but their is a BIG diffrence bettwen LIVING and being kept alive

this is being kept alive
