Siames Fighter

Back to the beginning, you had the tank 3 weeks and have lost 5 fish?
Have u tested your water?

If so what was the ammonia and nitrite levels?

I would say that you have over stocked the tank far to quickly and the bio-load is to great and you may have poisoned the fish.

Back to the fighters if that tank is large enough then u can keep a pair happily, but males do chase females, I've breed fighters many time's and know if their happy or not..

Adding extra females, the idea is the stress the distributed between them all, it's nothing like having several males together!!!!!, as several males will want to fight, where several females the shared out from one male!!!!

Helter

No, it isn't. The idea is most definately the same- females are nasty and aggressive too, and they certainly don't want to share either. Besides which, why would you even *want* to keep males and females together? If you're unlucky enough to have a pair bredd, the male becomes even more nasty, then you have all the fry to look after and individually house the aggresive ones. There are no benefits and many problems.

Well that is your opinion if the person wants to find out him/herself leave it down to them in his/her mind they have had two different stories now the person must decide what to follow, to save any bickering ...

Please also note i say a large enough tank, not small nano's with little or no areation, if a male can build a bubble nest then he'll be come very nasty!!!

Females are from aggressive to each other!!!!!!!!!!!! They flair up yes but do not fight.
Have you ever breed fighter in a community tank?

I know how territoral they get but this is almost impossible in a community tank, and no one should try to breed these fish with out setting up a breeding tank for the job....

I've had over 50 females in tank's befor with no problems what so ever, and if you know what your doing you can even keep several males in one tank, I've done it but you cant to this with shop fish.
If you rear the males together they do not fight and i bad 7 males in a 4ft tank with no problems, but as soom as you remove one male he'll never be able to go back with the other........

Exactly and I'm giving my 20 years of experance and it's not rearly bickering is a discussion whick if people have time to read will help many people.

lol no its not bickering but it will get to it, If the disagreements carry on ... some people dont know when to quit. :)

As pointed out by others, it is not recommended to keep males and females together, especially if it's not a big tank.
Advising someone that it is ok to do so is giving out the wrong impression. If people have successfully done so, then fair play to them but it is people with the experience and knowledge that can get away with doing so.
For someone new to the hobby or keeping Bettas, it is best to let them start off with a male or female/s and when they've got enough experience they can take it from there.

If you want siamese male and female. The best thing to do is buy at least 2-3 females therefor not taking all of his aggression out on a solo. I have found out also males don't like Platies

never, ever keep males and females together. that's what you do with guppies, you do NOT do the same thing with bettas.

but that's probably why they died, more than likely actually.

True, their are somany untrue facts going around and I'll explaing things how I've done it.
