Show Off Your Fish

Hi Fishblast - I going to do a mini-photo shoot of their postal delivery so pics guaranteed!

Hey Sailfin Zach - the four bigger ones are ~5cm; the tiddlers are about 2cm...they will get larger!
I see you have a nice collection of fish there; ghost shrimps and glass cats would look good in my cemetary I think, though unfortunately not set up for them!

Yay! X)
These kittens are so fascinating to watch, especially when they do some funny poses towards the camera. Mine likes the phone camera a lot but surely doesn't know what it does. He still wags his whiskers though when he sees it.

There's one good way to find out...chuck it in there and let him have a go!! (not really OK?)

The tank is looking good FishBlast, it's coming along now!
Thanks, still got background to get, probably to get some moss balls but not sure on those (to make hills) or might go with anubias on the sides, and to get the fern spreading. Hope my water surface will be covered by the water sprite soon.

I know I've put this guy up everywhere but he's great and as this is the 'show off your fish' thread, check this show-off out!

What did you name him though?

Great looking very unique tank you have there, like a gothic Hades. It would suit a big school of Glass Cats and a lot of red & green plants. What else do you plan to add to the cemetery?

I agree, Fishblast's tank looks awesome & her fish look happy.

If he grows to the size of Tzuppy I'll be happy. As to a name, when I can sex 'him' I'll get my girls to think of one!

Hey Ruskull, thanks for the positive on the Hades look! Thinking of finishing off the stocking with a couple of Thorichthys; aureus or ellioti - smaller cichlids which will be more suited to the tank size..in no rush to find them as some of the Ilyodons are still small.

Seeing as Tzuppy grew in a 40L or 50L, I think yours will grow way bigger, around 15-17 cm.
I wonder if mine can grow anymore, he's 9 years old, getting near cory lifespan... Sometimes, that realization makes me sad though. :(

Ooh don't go there...he looks a fine figure of a hoplo to me!
It's just what I've been reading online about their 6-8 years lifespan that scared me. He is quite active and very playful during feeding time and when known people are near his tank, so I guess he still has a few more years to live.

On the other hand, some people from the market told my dad when he first bought a pair of hoplos that they can live as much as 27 years. o_O I have found no evidence of this online though.
