I moved my female blue crayfish back to my big tank thursday night She immediately exscavated the area under one of the larger rocks in our tank. Crawled under it and barricaded herself in. She has not been out since so I am kind of worried about her. Should I disturb her and risk stressing her out more or wait? She could easily be molting or getting eggs going as her and my male were at it constantly before I seperated them because he got crazy aggressive and I was worried about her. If I should not bother her how long should I wait? just worried about her.

i would wait another day or two, but if she still isnt out by then, you would have t disturb her (she might be stuck) :good:

Thats why I was worried I dunno how long she can go with no food under there, If it were a den she had been hiding stuff in I would be a lil more relaxed but she had just dug it out ;(. last time she molted she hid for 3 days but she was useing that cave a while it was not new.

When I have fish hiding, I tend to leave them alone.
A few weeks ago I got a new galaxias Plec. Didn't see it for weeks and I was worried it was dead. I was tempted to remove all the bogwood to check it was still alive, but that would have caused havoc with my tank, so I left it alone. Slowly but surely it got more confident, and now it comes out loads, especially at feeding time.

I think it's best to be patient, let it settle down, and it will come out when ready.

My wife shined a flash light in tghe tank to try and see under the rock and she popped out the other side witha very pleasent suprise. She is so berried with eggs that I dont know how she isnt falling backwards :D yay for baby lobsters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
