SHOULD I BUY AN AROWANA

Arowana are not suitable for aquariums because they grow to 3 foot long. Do not buy one.

Honestly..500 gallons is too small for them. Think 2,000 gallons and then make a pet of one or two. Ok,even 1,500 gallons.
Arowana in less than 1,000? Will forever want to jump out..its like some Salmon like urge to go upstream. Takes over them.

My LFS keeps two in a 1.5K gallon tank. They seem pretty happy in there.

1,500 seems large enough..humane. But there are people who think 125 gallons is a "monster tank".
