Ok heres the deal, for christmas my parents have agreed to let me spend $200 on a new tank. Heres the catch, it has to pay for everything including substrate, live plants, filter, etc. Another catch is that if its anything more than like a 25 gallon high, it has to come with a stand. Ok give me your ideas on what you would spend the 200 dollars on. I'm looking for a tank above 20 gallons, 20 g's being the minimum. Go WILD!!!!

I like your idea fishkiller but one thing, a 20 gallon long would be too big for the table its gonna be on. Any chance I could find a stand for under $30? Anyone else, Ideas are welcome.

dont get wisper filters!!! ahh they realy realy stink, you might as well just have an air pump... ok there a little beter than air pumps but not by much.

beter filtration= more fish! yaaaay overstocking... I wouldnt go to crazy and you need a good stand too, its like 160 pounds of water for a 20 gallon you don't want to have it fall and break.

200$ isnt much of a budget...

a good stand... your looking at atleast 100$-80$ for a 20 gallon

I was selling a 20 gallon with flurestent lights nice wood stand good filtration all glass canopy ( I like to stare at the fish from the top) and a hole bunch of other stuff and a few fish for 180, but you live no were near me, and I think I'm just going to keep it anywais.

you might be able to get a realy realy cheap stand on ebay, but I hate ebay, you should try it though you might like it.

yea if i get a 20 gallon high I should be good as far as a stand, theres a really sturdy table in my living room I'm going to put it on. I've pretty much decided its gonna be like a 20-25 gallon tall tank since I dont have the money for a nice stand. And whisper in-tank filters do suck but I think the external ones are good.

wisper filters are cheap, but I would go with aqua clear, there a much beter quality hang on filter I don't know if they have them in your area
don't think they cost much more either.

Use craigslist, its the BEST!!!!!
I spent only 75 dollars for a 60 gallon tank with stand, filters, gravel, 8 cichlid fish!!, medical supplies, fish food, ect
all if bought at a retail price is easily over 500.

Go here and check it out: www.craigslist.org
Remember to put where you're from because most people who are selling the tanks do local pick up only

Basically, people sell it for so cheap because they are moving or doing a clean

Yea thats kind of like ebay, and I dont trust ebay usually. Thanks for the heads up though.

Check out 'Aqua One'

Most of their tanks come as complete deals with cabinets and a decent sized external filter.

Most lfs have an aqua one A5 brochure with all the options in.

Great value and some cool designs.
