Hi there,

I have some molly fry about 2 months old just over 1cm and some Guppy fry about 1cm (getting a bit of colour now on their tails). They are living happily in my tank with my, plec, clown loach, cardinals, adult swordtails, mollys, guppies and red honey gouramis. Someone wants some of them off me. They are not bothered about sex of them so could give them now, but they have two sharks, a red tip and grey tip about 3 inches long. SO the question is, if I give them some fry, will they get eaten and as adults will they get harassed. As I would not want to hand them over if this is the case thanks.

I would say so yes......anything that fits in their mouth and when they are hungry they will eat. Even with the fishes in your tank you will lose some babies when they are hungry, so I would suggest you keep them full and well fed. The best thing to do with baby frys is to seperate them into their own tank until they are at least half the size of your other fish or keep them in a breeder for them to grow, but I personally keep my baby frys in a speperate tank to give them a better chance in surviving and growing.

if not eaten probably harrased... alot!

Thanks I will keep hold of them then. My fish situation is fine. I keep the fry separated until they are about the side of my cardinal tetras. My tank is very peaceful just someone wanted some off me who has a shark. Would you say never mix them with sharks ever or just as fry. x

In my own limited experience with them, sharks deserve their common name. Those guys will eat fish much larger than you might expect.
