Its almost time for me to fill my tank with fish and I particularly like the shark species. I have a 160L tank and just wondering, does anyone know what type of sharks can be put together and what types of other fish. Plus what sort of amount of fish I could have in the tank too?

Thanks
Sam

What are the dimensions of the tank (length x width x height)?

100% not big enough for silver sharks, by a long way...

Red Tailed Black Shark, the albino form or Ruby Shark or whatever people call them these days... black, white or brown with a a red tail...

Might be able to fit one in... if you dont have and small fish or fish with long fins or shy fish... and you put one in last...

Personally, i think the tank is faaaar too small for sharks!

Sorry...

Ah ok that's not a problem :) so What kind of fish am I able to keep and quantity?

I'm not too sure that's the thing? Because this is my fist ever tank I am pretty much clueless as to what type I can have and which are good ones to start with!

Usually live bearers like guppies, and platies are a good fish to start with! And then from there you will get a good idea of what fish you find cool and what you eventually want to keep.

In that case, the best thing to do is go around your local fish shop (LFS) and write down the names of any fish you like the look of. Then you can come and ask on here, and people can advise you whether they're suitable for your tank or not :good:

Ok I had a little look today - Angelfish, Tetras, Plecos, Bettas and Guppies :)

A good combo might be a couple of BN Plecos, a few different shoals of tetras. Maybe some rummynose, Pristella, Cardinals, lemon, fire etc or some Rasboras. I'd stay away from Angels unless you have a tall tank. If you want a centrepiece fish then maybe a pair of Kribensis or Rams, a BN plec and one good size shoal of tetras.

need to get more than a couple of corys m8. should be kept in groups of 6+

L :good:

If it was my tank, this is the stocking id be asking about on here;

Bolivian Ram (Pair)
Harlequin Rasbora (6)
Some type of Tetra (6)
Smaller species of Cory (6)
Clown Pleco, maybe?

Not sure if that's too much for a 165L tank though, that's why id be asking on here

I noticed you mentioned the guppies in your like list. Just be sure you get all male guppies or you will end up with lots of babies.

Plecos get huge and need a very large tank once they grow larger, so just be aware. Angelfish also get fairly large.

Neon Tetras a re a good fish for beginners. They must be kept in shoals, so at least 10 of them. They are also small enough to allow the shoal to be kept in most tanks.
