Shaken but Okay .

The last dog that tried to attack me is still turning in the revolving doors at "The Bay" of Pointe-Claire store. :fish:

Hope you are going to be alright and everything goes well, that is not a good experience.

I also hope a little the dog doesn't die poisoned because he bite you ;)

Gee whiz, that's awful! I hope you heal fast & well.

I've been knocked down or almost by big "friendly" dogs & I'm not a small person. I feel like owners should control their animals. I like most or at least some dogs but expecting a child to do that is a bit too much.

We had a politician that brought his St. Bernards everywhere until his puppy bit someone outside a grocery store. I don't really blame the dog so much as the owner/handler. It may be fine with his family but not in all situations.

I had one of the most lovable dog you could dream of... You could let it play with the children on the street no problem there.... 6-7 kids etc...

Until the day one of the parents came to get one of his kid that wasn't listening... In a little too much aggressive manner, that I saw.... But the way the dog instantly protected the kids and let the guy know to forget about kidnapping... Really scared me off... And was able to call her back before it gets bad... You know when your dog is not joking... And providence was for me to be there because it was going to defend his own "family"... I got a lot more careful after that...

I'm a dog lover, but I wouldn't keep a dog with the bite power of a pit bull type. It's a leftover from dog fighting, a 'sport' well loved in previous generations, but that only a few people breed dogs for nowadays. It makes the dogs really dangerous, should they ever attack.
Since their ancestors were bred to fight, a lot of them will attack.
Why the explanation? A lot of people naively think that with love a fighting breed will be one a kid can walk on a leash. Some individual dogs will, but it's a type of dog I never 100% trust.

Take care of those wounds. They can be slow to heal, and easily become infected. That's an awful thing.

I’m sorry that happened to you. If it starts to look bad even with the oral antibiotics, go to the ER and get IV antibiotics. Dog bites can get infected, especially if their teeth are bad. Hopefully you won’t get much scarring but unfortunately running won’t be as fun.

I work with dogs. The problem with pitbulls is that their breeding is underestimated. It's true that they are bred initially for fighting with bulls and then with dogs, but this very thing leads to enormous predation and, above all, gameness. In other words, they've been bred to turn off their brains and the self-control that dogs normally possess to continue fighting even if their opponent surrenders, even if they're in pain, even if there's no reason for it. In many European countries pit bulls and similar breeds are banned; in Italy, they're permitted, but attacks on other dogs and, often, people are commonplace.
I'm so sorry for what happened to you, but don't blame all dogs. Think of it like when there's a human criminal; it's not that you hate the entire human race.

I had a terrifying experience yesterday . I started out on my daily run and was attacked and bitten up badly by two dogs . One was a pitbull and it’s true what they say about their bite . It was very painful and my right arm is mangled up but okay . The emergency room doctor thinks I’m okay . I got five stitches and a tetanus shot . I was absolutely paralyzed with fear during the attack but it was over quickly . Needless to say , I am going to start carrying pepper spray or something when I resume my runs and I am never going to trust any dog ever again . I’m typing this out with my left hand and it’s difficult .
Sending healing vibes your way! All the best for a speedy recovery....😀
