Hello Everyone,
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, i have always kept small tropicals and only started on the bigger variety's 6 months ago. Both of my sev's go mental whenever i clean the glass any advice would be helpful bit worried about stressing them out.
:thanks:Gary

How do you clean the glass?
Started with a magnetic cleaner as i have always done in my other tank, they went around the tank bouncing off the walls, then i tried it with the lights off, this had the same effect.
I then tried one off the cleaners on a long handle, same thing happend again. i only clean it slowly so i don't know why they are reacting like this. The Boesemani Rainbows couldn't care less, they just carry on regardless.

I would try doing it while you are doing a water change. That's what I do, since some of my bigger fish got spooked by the magnetic cleaner (big bad fish being scared by a magnet ). With the syphon hose in the tank and everything going on, maybe they won't even notice the glass cleaner.

Oh yeah, also, I use just a sponge with a rough back. You might want to try this, since my fish are much more scared of random things in the tank and are used to my hand being in there.

Good luck!

Thanks for getting back to me, will try it at the next water change as you have suggested, they are not bothered by the syphon hose my hands or anything else i do with the tank i think they must own the glass
will let you know how i get on.

Hello Invader
Did the water change and used the long handled cleaner during it all going on and what a difference :hooray: they just stayed behind the rock like they do when the lights go out. Thank you very much for the advice, i have posted a better pic of bigred in the bigred and friends post.
all the best
Gary
