Well, got my new [to me] 37g [US] tank yesterday....and so the fun begins.

All the equipment I received yesterday has been stored outside, so is need of a ### good clean  . I got: tank 48'' by 12'' by 15'', black ornate metal stand, hood, condensation trays, two lighting systems, two filters [Eheim external and Fluval 4+], two air pumps, substrate, heater [not sure if it works], internal backing and loads of ornamental bogwood [not real]. For £30 :good:

Day 1
I cleaned out the Eheim last night and it's looking good and washed the stand down, that's as far as I got before it started to pee down!!!

Day 2 [today]

:shout: The stand doesn't fit where I want it to!!!!!!!!!!! The tank fits, but the stands legs come out at an angle and I'm an inch short!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grr: I've even considered taking the skirting boards off with a chisel, but was restrained by my son, who has persuaded me to put the tank elsewhere [would have looked so good in that recess], so today I will be mainly scrubbing the tank out and deciding what filters to put in what tanks.....basically having a little move round!

Sounding good so far Lisa! :D

I get the willies just thinking about having to do puffer dentistry, so you're braver than me

I got it off of Google Images after seeing it in the Telegraph a few weeks back. It's just too cute innit

....anyway....Back to the project in hand!

The tank is now scrubbed and on the stand and is filling as I type! I used the substrate that came with the tank, but am not happy with the colour....too orange  But it'll do as a base and I'll get some white sand tomorrow to top it off with. Plants are ordered and for now I'm just going to run the Fluval in it to keep the water turning over.....
Off to scrub some bogwood now!!!!!

Sounds like a bargain to me :good: ... looking forward to some pics and to see how it all progresses ;)

The substrate is a mix of sand and small gravel....it doesn't look so bad now it's in the tank, but I'm going shopping for goodies tomorrow so I might just get some play sand and try it out.....it'll be a #### to get out if I don't like it or it doesn't work though!!!!!!

There are going to be pictures with this....just waiting for my son to show me how to up-load them though.....could take some time....he's 17 and plays World of Whatever all day  :fun:
