I love the movie dolphin tale... Winter is a dolphin that had to be kept in captivity. Ive been wanting to go to the clearwater aquarium for a long time. They keep dolphins only if they are injured or sick and then "re train" them for the wild to set them free. Although winter's case was special because his tail became so injured that they had to remove it. So now he lives at the clear water aquarium with a comfortable prosthetic tail that moves naturally and has a friend named hope who also has something incurable
I love that movie. We were visiting Florida (only 2 hours from clearwater) when they were doing an event with the cast from DolphinTale, but we weren't able to go.

I think it is very different if the animals are rescues or if the breeding is for conservation purposes. And the level of care provided, of course.

Wow! Thats so cool. Sad you couldnt go.

Yeah same. I wanted to sooo bad.
One of my friend's sister actually was able to swim with a dolphin! She saved up a lot of money and was able to go. I was jealous but in a healthy way.

Ooooo lucky her! I know what you mean

I once went to Mexico with my family, and there was this business that had fenced in a large portion of a bay and let people meet and ride the dolphins. I was too little to really be able to know if it was humane or not

I got around to watching this today. Absolutely unbelievable: Watching the SeaWorld officials lie their tails off on the sand, hearing the people talk about being part of separating the babies from the mother's, definitely not an easy viewing experience but an educational one.
I couldn't believe the trainers at one SeaWorld wouldn't know about a near fatal accident or injury at another one! The whole thing was just jaw-dropping!

I’ve got a long car ride today and am going to watch the full video. I watched part of it with my sister yesterday and she won’t stop talking it about, I suspect she will watch the full thing too.
