I completed up to Rescue Diver and was contemplating Master Diver. I have several hundred logged dives and interested me enough to go for my second boards in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine.

I dived Belize/Turneffe Reef, Guadalupe, Caymans, Hawaii, Martinique, Cozumel and my favorite, Fiji.

Scariest experiences?:
-ruptured airline at 40 feet during training
-reverse ear squeeze, got stuck at 10 feet with 300PSI until I cleared
-chased by a moray for about 20 feet/ circled by a barracuda
-once had brief vertigo
-my first dive in Atlantic waters (barely any visibility and big animals)

Most beautiful sightings:?
-hugest sea turtle swam right by me, Hol Chan, Ambergris Caye, Belize
-Red Wall, White Wall, Purple Wall, Yellow Wall, off Taveuni, Fiji
-spotted eagle rays, Turneffe Island; school of permit; 9 foot nurse shark
-bioluminescence and octupi. night dive, Georgetown Harbor, Grand Cayman I.
-the sensation of open ocean/bottomlessness, The Wall, Caymans.

Yeah Timmy, IMHO it is better to learn here, if you can dive well here in murky cold water, you can do it in warm crystal clear water.

Scariest experiences? Out of Air at about 15M in the Algarve, but my buddy was more scared, he thought he'd have to hold me up  Next one was being caught by a current and off a reef in the Red Sea (on my birthday) 4 of us daisy chained together all being held by one man, with a 2 finger hold on a coral  Then after surfacing, not being able to get back to the boat due to the waves being too high, they had to chuck a rope out to us and tow us to calmer water  took about an hour to get back into the boat, I was buggered. I'd watched Open Water the week before going on holiday.

Only shark experience was diving in the Shark tank at Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port, whilst they are scary, I would guess that over 90% of all divers would like to see a shark. My number one holiday dream is to co to the Cape in South Africa and do the cage diving in the Great White feeding areas :hyper: Bloozoo, those shots look great.

Nicest experience, the last dive I was on, as we were doing a safety stop a HUGE turtle swam past, so I used the last 60 bar of air up following it  and got a right telling off for boarding the boat with a tank that was out of air  well I paid for it, I was using it. The turtle seemed to keep looking over it's shoulder at me and when I was lagging behind, it slowed down B)

Hehe, I'm 13 and get to go Shark Diving. Though not the cage no. Just the harmless sharks, like nurse sharks and other bottom sharks, that groupers will even attack. Where am I going you ask? The BAHAMAS!

I want to, but I have to be 18 to do that, and it costs alot of money. Not in the thousands, though in the mid-hundreds.

having only done ten dives i never had any problems,
but i had my primary reg stop working when it got kicked out my mouth by my step bro, having a breif sence no air..the diapram had got clogged with sand etc and jammed but was fine after a good wash.

We have some deadly wrecks in our area that have claimed the lives of a few divers:

1) the Andrea Doria...you can bounce the stern which I believe is about at 230 FSW. The only problem is that the ship is so entangled with nets and cables that you risk getting trapped

2) USS San Diego...the ship is upside down and hence can cause disorientation, especially if you kick up silt. Several divers drowned only 10 feet from the exit.

we (england) have some very dangerous quarries, 2 months ago my dads dive club (and mine when i find the time to do some more dives) we/they lost two members at a quarry (ill get the names some other time)
doing some rediculous depth like 80ft and inshort got narked on enriched air and floated to the top, dead by the time they got to the surface
