I went upto the north east of Scotland in May to the moray firth, and there was tonnes and i mean tonnes of really nice looking drift wood, but stupid me didnt bring any home.
As long as its not from the conifer/pine trees it should be fine.
The only problem you will have is that it is very boiant so tieing it down is a must.
If the wood is for a larger tank some months or a year down the line i would sugest going away for a weekend up there and have a root around, and if your into birds, dolfins, wales ospray otters ect ect then its all in the same spot as the tonnes of drift wood to choose from, OH and there a cafe called "cafe wild" I mean what more does a man what 8)
Bugger just found my ispell check is out of date soz for the bad spelling!!
