Does anybody know of a good scavenger that is not ugly that want eat your fish? I thought about putting in a Fiddler Crab but I dont know if they will bother my fish.

I wouldn't risk it with anything that has claws. If you like the idea of invertebrates- why not a school of amano shrimps? Great fun to watch and do a good job on the scavenging.

Yeah I have decided to not put one of them in. I looked at them at the petstore and they was missing claws and everything else. Do you think my Cichlids would eat the shrimp??

I'm guessing they probably would...what kind of cichlids do you have?

The parrot will eat the shrimps. I bought 10 from my LFS and they said it wouldn't. Put them in and they got munched in <1 minute!

How big is your Clown Loach? I am thinking about getting one but I don't know to much about them. Are they agressive and do they eat fish?

I have a hard time with scavengers myself too, I have a Fire Eel. I had some crawfish that he turned into appetizers.

Didn't realise you had big cichlids when I mentioned the shrimps. They'd be expensive parrot food. :(

LOL I feed them Krill also so they would have a hay day with ghost shrimp.

You can get a DoJo and he will survive with more agressive fish. The only thing is that I never see mine doing anything usefull in the tank. They are fun to watch if you have sand though. They will dig in it and burry themselves. What fish ate your Fire Eel and crawfish?

Sorry, the Fire Eel ate the crawfish. The Fire Eel (Beavis) is still doing great. He is learning hand feeding now. The crawfish were left over fishing bait so it wasn't a monetary loss. My tank is a mish-mosh already. 55G with ~13 various African Cichlids, 2 Raphael Cats (one stripped one spotted), 2 Banjo Cats, a common Pleco and the Fire Eel. I am setting up a 55g for my wife and moving the common pleco and the raphaels over there along with a red tiger oscar. That will give me some more room. I'll check out the DoJo. I do have sand, aquarium sand right now, but I have UGJs ready to put in and when I switch them over I am going to put in PFS instead. Hopefully that will keep it out of my filters.
