Hello everybody. As a newbie to this type of pet, I may have simple, silly questions to ask. Please forgive me!

Now, on to my situation. Currently the only fish I have are two Blue Coral Platys. If I'm not mistaken, they're both male. They are both very peaceful, friendly, and not aggressive to each other whatsoever. I only have the two because my tank is nearly cycled and I haven't gotten any more yet. (Soon!)

Recently, one of my Platys came down with Ich. It was an extremely mild case,  (I think?) being only a few spots on his tail fin. These spots pretty much vanished after treating the tank for three days with fizzing Ich tabs. However, since I believe my fish (just the one) had this for a little bit, he was scratching on some of the decorations. Which is why I even noticed this problem. He appears to have injured just one, or possibly two of his scales on the side of his body. That is to say, it appears they are protruding just a bit from the body. I imagine this is because he was scratching, and not due to "dropsy" because it is just the one or two, and not all over or even in patches. And I am 99 percent sure that it isn't due to fighting between them because they are extremely peaceful.

I have yet to find anything (I'm sure it's out there) about what to do when a fish has an injured scale instead of just being sick. So I guess my question is, does anything need to be done to help his scale(s) heal? If so, what is it? Or is there some other action I should take? He appears to be fine now, swimming normally. He has stopped scratching, the Ich on his tail has gone. The only thing I've noticed is that he appears to be a little more shy about eating lately. (Although I suspect that's due to me rearranging some of the decorations and now there aren't as many places for him to hide.)

Well, what say you, fellow fish people? What can be done?

If it is only the two scales and it's from him scratching on stuff then just keep the water very clean and they should heal on there own.

I agree with the above post.
Just keep a close eye that no fungus grows on the area of missing scales. Or any redness to the area.

Thank you so much for the response! I am less worried about the little guy now. I am going to keep the water in good condition and hope that it helps the healing process.
