Save A Puppy

Okay, I'm going to be a meanie and say this... I hate these beggar websites; just because he has a cute dog that is supposably sick, doesn't mean he should get a single penny from anyone. As a pet owner, you are supposed to take care of your pets, including vet bills. He's not the only person scraping by; he can take out a loan, if necessary, to take care of things like everyone else does.

Rant over... if I'm out of line mods, then please delete.

Wendy i agree it's just to get money out of you.

I agree with Wendy too. If there even if a sick dog, they could have prevented it by getting him vaccinated for parvovirus at 8 and 12 weeks and then they only have to spend about $60 not $2000.00. I hope the dogs survives but what are they going to do later on in life when he eats a sock or gets hit by a car. Our money won't make a difference- they have to learn that having a dog is a privledge and a responsibility, not a right.

z.

Since we did not take her to a Vet in that 72 hour window the breeder, supposedly, is not liable for the dog.
Well there's your problem right there, dummy. When a breeder tells you to get the animal checked out within a certain period of time or else they're not liable, you take the freakin' dog to the vet! Their unwillingness to take the time to get their dog checked out is going to cost them.

Man, if my brand-spankin' new pedigree puppy was costing me $2000 (in addition to purchase price) due to a completely preventable disease, i'd be broadcasting that breeder's name high and low on the internet.

there is absolutely no reason for any properly vaccinated and quarantined puppy to come down with parvo. either this guy's a dumb-bum who bought from essentially a puppy-mill or this is a scam.

hmm.. gotta wonder how much money they're making from this scam. Hopefully they'll use it to buy pet insurance next time!

Don't want to be the cynical here (as are others) but my gut feeling is that this is an outright scam. How many of these hoaxes and scams like this have not been floaing round through the years clogging up our inboxes or junk mail. If I was going to donate any money, I'd do so directly to a charity by donating something useful (as in objects or food) or my time.

Actually, a dog can get parvop when it has been vaccinated. SAeveral dogs i know have had it and they were all vaccinated, we're having to be really careful here as its spreading at the shows so we've stopped taking ours for the moment.

Haven't read that website properly (on lunch break so being quick lol) but i did notice he said parvo is incurable, which isn't true as a friend of mine had a lab go down with it and she's fine now!! She was very sick obv, and it cost them a lot in vets bills but she's ok - She was fully vaccinated too by the way..

If that was my dog i'd have taken it back to the breeder and insisted they deal with it. Harsh i know, but they'd had it 2 days... Thats the breeders responsibilty IMO. As well as owning sdogs being a big responsibility, breeding them is an even bigger one.. Bad breeder imo..

I decided to start this SAVE CASH fund to help pay for this little puppy

please purchase a shirt

Well he has enouh money to get a load of shirts printed before hand :grr:

Who says you actually get the shirt? He might just take your money and be off with it.
Also, you can get the money first, then get the shirt printed and send out. I seriously doubt that he's got shirts printed out, laying in his drawers folded waiting to be send out. I agree that it's odd he's got money to get shirts printed but not to pay the vet bills (though if the price is true, that isn't exactly money you've got around all the time).

If it is true, I feel really sorry for them and the puppy. Personally though, I'm really not sure how much to believe of it.

I am sure its a Scam things just dont add up, last year there was one doing the rounds about a Rabbit and there has been a few other dog ones and cat ones doing the rounds over the last couple of years

yeah, but the rabbit one was obviously a joke.

btw, i think the general website is a tshirt shop anyways, so the guy's already got all the means and methods for making these shirts once enough have been bought.

:X I definitely agree, this is sick. People who don't vaccinate against parvo and/or expose their young puppies to it aggrivate me SO much! If you're irresponsible enough to buy from a crappy breeder without any research, and/or not get your pup vaccinated, you need to scrap together the money to treat them.

What kills me even more is this is a Boston pup... Boston Terriers are being mercilessly exploited by mills and BYB's. It's not this poor puppies fault. I'm sure these smart new owners paid at least $1000-2000 to buy the puppy to begin with! It's totally wrong that this guy is raking in money from bleeding hearts, when those people could be donating much more well-used and very needed money to homeless animals!

Actually, the website doesn't say that it kills all dogs, in fact the very next sentance after, "there is no cure," is "there's a 50/50 survival rate", and in fact, a quick google does seem to state that there is no known cure for Parvo, just numerous treatments. Anyone with a common cold can tell you, "treatment is not cure".

After saying that, I only have one thing left to say, www.savekaryn.com (edit: (about))

I wish I could have helped my cats and various bills with sites like this, but people don't donate, not even when you provide a genuine service that aides and improves a person's life with the simple line, "If you like, I'd appreciate a donation."
