Sand Or Gravel ?

Can some of you give me some advantages and disadvantages on both please and tell me what you have , Thankyou very much in advance. :good:

I would go with sand, however, it will take a couple days minimum for the water to fully clear after adding it to the tank.

I have Black Moon Sand...and it looks great!

Here is a couple pics of my tank...scroll to the bottom of the page to see the latest picture. Don't mind the decor as it will be all gone this weekend and in its place will be live plants and bogwood.

I switched from blue gravel to play sand, and it looks great. As mentioned, it took a few days to settle, but now it looks good.

Main advantage: my cories love it.
Main disadvantage: it's harder to clean without sucking up the sand itself. While the junk stays on top, unlike falling through gravel, it's harder to get it up cleanly. I've heard, though, that it doesn't take too long to get the hang of it.

Final thought: If you go with sand, consider buying play sand rather than "true" aquarium sand. Much cheaper.
