No one was flamed. Andy knows his stuff so I really wouldnt argue with it. Of course you are entitled to your own opinion and preference but there is nothing wrong with atttempting to have a scientific discussion over its affects. As Andy pointed out, there have been some great threads and debates about this and I suggest everyone involved in this topic read them before debating anything more as a lot of this has already been covered and put to rest. As for the original question, nope never use salt in my betta tank.

I, too, use a little bit of dissolved salt in the water of my betta when I change it. Re the "poll of piercings," Did anyone ask their betta if they use sea salt for their piercings==for earrings, etc.?

My point was showing that salt in small doses heals flesh wounds, but lord knows a hole in the body of something is not comparable to an open sore, or infection (and not just for humans either, saline washes are often used on animal wounds), but my way of communicating that point was not the best. :good: I could have sworn this thread had died already, though..

Very bad habit that. None of us infallible. Just because someone has been right a lot in the past is no guarantee they are this time (Past performance is no accurate guide to future events etc.).

Though naturally I am flattered ;)
 Maybe I should have said dont argue with Andy on the salt topic. Either way, based on your previous threads and debated over the preceding months, I dont think i would ever want to debate you with anything fish related :p
