Rubber Lipped Or Common?

I have a 125 usg Tanganyikan (sorta) with Moba fronts, multi Synos, compressiceps, and clown Loaches. I would like to add a Plec or two. I got a couple of Common Plecs about 1.5 inches and they are in with some Corys to grow a little. But they had some Rubber Lipped ones too. I like the Commons I have seen, but I wondered if anyone thought the Rubber Lipped would be better?

it's a personal choice the comman plecs grow alot bigger than a rubber lipped ,so i would personally only have 1 comman but as the rubber only grows around 7" (usually about 3-4" tho) then u could have a couple of these 1's in that sized tank.

just 1 more thing tho the rubbers can get abit terrotorial with each other so for future reference i'd just be aware of this

Good old PetSmart. The tag printed by PetSmart on the tank said the rubber lips get 24" Oh Well!

In a 125 usg, don't you think the 2 Commons will be ok? It is gallons not ltrs.

There are 6 clowns which are already 6" or so, and the male front is 12" or more

2 would be fine i would have said but again aggression in 2 male mite be a problem as u wont know the sex when first brought and they also get 2 around 14-20" in length and creat alot of waste like i said 2 would be fine but aggression mite cause u 2 have 2 get rid of 1 in the future and if ur anythink like me i get so attached 2 my fish i would hate 2 have 2 get rid of 1

The commons are aggressive also?

Is the 20" with or without the tail?

How much territory do they need?

Are you Birmingham, ALA or UK?

as far as im aware most male 2 male plecs/fish can be aggresive 2 a certain degree its just aggression tends 2 be more of a damge causer if the fish are larger and yes as far as im aware agrresion levels can be quite high in 2 male comman plecs but i guess theres always the exception

20" could be with or without tail i have herd some ppl say they had a comman grow as large as 24" but i dont think this is all that comman

as for terrortry i dont think theres actually a rule just the comman sense factor just say a 5 foot tank (60") and a 20" plec thats a third of the lengh of tank so i would say it would need that 5 foot tank thereselves
