The reason we fund their wedding - the UK would be absolutely stuffed without the Monarchy, they bring in a lot of money for the country.

Yeah, and they spend it aswell! Lol
Gotta say that this wedding is probably the best thing to happen to England for a while.
While it is costing alot, half the amount it costs to keep all the lazy spongers at home a year in fact, it has also generated a few billion for the country.
Add to that the chance to flog more wedding stuff to the world and the country is quids in!
Now I won't be watching as it interests me not but I think we are lucky to have a royal family as, even If it doesn't seem it, they do generate alot of money through tourism. I once saw something that was along the lines of for every twenty people that visit bucks palace one person on long time dole gets his/her money...
