hi there i have noticed the considerable amount of droppings my royal pleco does ad wanted to know if there is an easier way of cleaning the mess up rather then siphon.?

I have exactly the same issue, ive got a battery vacum that siphons the water through a bag so just trapping waste ect, well worth the money!

this one, got it from pets at home

had to extend the pipe using a bit of old eheim tube but it works fine still

The best method is syphoning or anything that physically removes the waste from the tank. This way it doesnt clog the filters and contribute to the accumulation waste products. My main method to handle the waste is syphoning. In my 2 tanks I setup the flow so that the detritus settles in one place, there is also a mechanical filter there to pick up what I dont. On my tank with a 15.5" L190 (plus other plecs) I use a Eheim Powerline 2252 internal filter. On my other tank with 11 assorted Panaque I use a pressurised pond filter with solids handling pump.
