Rowa Phos And Salt

Hi Shelagh,

Have you ordered the salt yet? I know where you can get Seachem Reefsalt, 600L bucket for £36 + £7.95 shipping. If there are other bits you need to get, I don't think you#ll pay any more shipping on top, well up to 30KG anyway.

If you like I'll pm you a link.

Shelagh you have a couple of corals, so you want to be using RO water not dechlor tap water.

yf, ro is certainly preferential but I use and have used tap water treated with marine de chlorinator and easi life fluid filter media here for years....been doing this since before ro was even available to the home keeper....
While ro is best, treated tap water is still fit for purpose if running carbon and phosphate remover.

I have it on good authority any of dechlorinators made by tetra are exactly the same.

If you do decide to swap all the rockes over, you could try turning them over to starve the algae of light.

It may help till your phosphate remover kicks in and starts to rid the phosphate.

marine one gives the best shine but tina,lol..and as for the salt creep.............

I need to change mine soon in the next couple of weeks, and I dont even know where seffie has them hide in the tank, as I have never saw them lol.

YF

:p It's in a bag either in the first weir or the second, duh, i can't remember which but am leaning towards the second

have you ever ran any copper treatments through the other tank??

Very good question and very important :good:

shelagh, if you haven't run copper in the 180 think i would be very tempted to do as YF suggested - the only problem might bechanging the water quality so quickly may shock the corals. So might be a good idea to start running the carbon and phosphate remover on the old tank, do a few water changes and then move everything over, turning the rocks over as Tina suggests :good:

Owl, that is a real cute picture of you :good: talking about cute, YF, where's your lovely photo gone :good:

thanks for the input everyone.. i got the salt.. red sea 22 kg for £45 , id like to start using RO water but its how to get to start. do top up or go for a full change.( have enough of my other salt left to do a few top ups tho.
got the rowa phos too.. but can find any instructions :/
the coral that i have ( i think itsmushroom) has really tripled in size and looking a heck of a lot healthier, the clown loves it.. snuggles up bless him .

no i have never run copper in the 180.. in any of the tank for that matter, i like the shape of the vision, but if it means i can get the best shot at sorting the "mess" out then im happy to swap.. but not in a rush, want to make sure i do it all right.
was also looking at a few skimmers while i was there and an RO unit, didnt rush into buying tho as you can be sure i would have chosen the wrong ones.
its not actually a very well stocked MHA, but time ment i couldnt get to the one further away which was what i intended to do today :(.
oh and they didnt have rubble either...can i just add the phos remover too the sponges? ( dont think i said that when i finally opened the filter to clean it-- eeeeww---- was full of sponges and sand was on the sides not the sandy stuff that i thought was filling the filter- so basically its the same sort of filter that i have on my otehr tanks :) )
