I'd clean them with bleach. Let the rocks dry out completely before putting them in the tank, though. I'm really not sure if it's safe, but I do it and my fish are fine.

NEVER DO THAT! first you have to boil the rocks a good few times. Then after that poor vinegar on them if steam stuff comes of it boil them for a good long time again and then they should be fine!

you shouldnt use any type of cleanin products on anythin to do with an aquarium unless it has been made to be safe for aquarium use

ppl might say that they have used somethin with 'no problems' but how do they know? fish cant show any kind of emotion and could be in some kind of pain or discomfort......just coz it hasnt died doesnt mean its happy and healthy
