Rock Set Up In Tank - What Do You Think?

Sorry, I thought you were asking about the aesthetics not the functionality.

I am sort of a nut about the topic of people's subjective opinions about how any given tank may look. It is why I have nver entered any tank related contests nor voted in any of them either. It is also why I don't believe in showing fish in competitions.

The only person who needs to approve how a tank looks is the owner imo.

Thing is I am the complete opposite and actually like to show off want I have acheived, especially with this, really proud of it as I have never done anything like it before. Would like to show as many people as possible!

Not having a go but the world wide web would be quite boring without peoples achievements for us to see. I've been on this forum for only a few weeks, have trawled tons of pages and have admired a lot of peoples work, of which a lot have given me ideas to proceed.

It was from a local garden centre. Tried a few places first. Cost was £30 for 100kg.

glad you got some rock in the end mate. i had the same problem with the sand, i bought 4 bags of the stuff and only used about 2.5-3 bags. tank looks great, very natural looking, good luck with the cycle

Thanks James. I have been keeping up to date with your posts, have answered a lot of questions for me that I needed to ask. Can I ask where you got your food from and are you just sticking with the NLS or are you using a varied diet?

sticking with nls, i did loads of research and it seemed the best option, i have seen photos of peoples cichlids who are only fed NLS and nothing else, their colours were unreal, totaly stunning. i got it from ebay but im told you can get it cheaper else were over the phone.
its good to have someone at kinda the same stage as you to help with questions,
im by no means experienced but if you ever have any questions i can answer then fire on.
cheers
james :good:

Nice one James, thanks for the info. I'll get stocked up on the NLS then.

You are slightly ahead of me which makes it easier for me, rather than the other way round, but will deffo fire questions over on your journal/PM if need being.
