I have just bought a river reef 48 aquarium but it came without any instructions, I am itching to get water into it but i just don't have a clue as to what goes in the 4 built in filter chambers.

The filter bits that came with the tank are
Black plastic ball shapes in a yellow plastic net bag
A square black coarse foam block
A white foam square pad
A charcoal bag
A ceramic bag

The 4th chamber has a nozzle in it for the pump, but i don't know where to put the filter parts or the heater stat.
I want to set the tank up for tropical fish not a marine setup, Any help would be great.

Cheers Sniperzzz

Hi,

As you look at the tank from the front, put the heater into the left hand side compartment behind the filter vents.

In the next two, put the coarse black foam at he bottom of the second and the black plastic balls in the bottom of the third.

Then you can weight the foam and plastic balls with the ceramics and charcoal (one ine each compartment). I would then place the white foam at the top of the third compartment.

That is pretty much how mine is setup, although I have extra ceramics rather than charcoal, and place filter floss cut to size from a roll across the top of the second and third compartments.

HTH.
