Rip 25 Fish

Thats terrible. It must be really cold where you live. Like snowing! Im glad some of them have made it.

I dunno, a tank I had once where the heater failed went down to 8 degress centigrade in November. Just depends on how well the room is heat proofed. Sometimes my flat can go below 10 degrees at night and im fully double glazed (well, only my eyes are fully glazed but my windows are well draft proof!)

apple snails can live in cold water tanks...so they shouldnt have been affected at all?

oh no, so sorry to hear about your fish :( I bet you are kicking yourself :( I once forgot to turn my filter back on after a water change and went to work, luckily I realised a few hours later and got my in laws to go to my house and plug it back in :S

There you go, like my tank back in the day, the tank relies on a heater. The thing I did (and I know its so easy in hindsight) is to wrap my tank in blankets if im away for more than a night or two.
