Right, I took the plunge and bought some riccia. My plan is to leave it floating for a few weeks to let it grow, then carpet it. The tank is being based on a Takeshi Amano tank with a riccia carpet and a bit of bogwood in the corner with java fern on it (which I also ordered). So, how best to carpet? Bits of slate? Mesh? Lead? Hairnets? Is it wise to invest in a co2 system (possibly a nurtafin one)?

Hopefully jimboo will reply here as he helped me immensely in telling me how to do it (via PM)....I am sure he can explain it better than me (as I am still getting my head around it) so I will wait for him to reply ut if he hasn't I will forward his PM onto you....

bascailly i floated it for a coupel of days, and then simply spred it over teh top of some slate and then wrapped a hrianet round the wle thing and made sure it was tight and put it in the tank
