im just wondering if anyone has used RUGF and how they liked it.
my thoughts are that with RUGF and HOB biowheel i can keep my gravel cleaner for a longer duration and have plants/large objects in my tank W/O cloging areas of the filter. the otehr thought was to have valves on my power heads (still lookin @ GPH ratings and trying to find out what i wold need) to adjust flow rates so when my gravel needs a cleaning i can turn up the pumps and flush out debris..... any ideas sugestion?

It should work as long as clear , clean water goes through .

It is something I think about doing , but never do  , always wanted to use my fluval to push the water through the tubes , may have needed 2 :dunno: .

I think live plants do better in gravel were fish wastes settle , not to much fish waste.

thats where the valves come in.... it shold slow the flow down and let certan places collect a small ammout of "nastie stuff" like roots and large decorations. i dunno.. guess im gonna try it out in my 10G.. it needs a better filter anyhow..........

ok im am going to do RUGF on my next tank i found a nice DIY undergrav setup useing pvc with slits cut underneath. i will post a guide when im done so look for it within the next month. i was gonna post the link to the DIY UGF but now i cant seem to find it ... and its not the one on about.... so any way ill keep everyone posted and i shold be geting to work on this project around november 5th.

EDIT: i havent herd of it being done, but do you think if i pull water from an HOB pengun bio wheele filter it might make the water pushing threw the power head cleaner and make for a more effecient system? .. my goal is to make a tank taht can go without a gravel cleaning for a long time.
