What advice would you give to someone looking to purchase a RO unit?

I understand how they work, but I'm wondering what to look for, where to purchase it (in Canada), manufacturers to buy from/avoid, that sort of thing. Thanks :)

Hi..I"m not the 'RO expert", but, I have one know for 6 months to make RO water for my marine tank and this is what I can tell you:

1) I purchased mine on Ebay...I think it was a Canadian seller btw...AquaSafe sytems

2) The unit cost about $80 without shipping. It's a six stage and water purity is as high as 99% with the DI

3) Rated at 110 gph, but, with our house pressure, it actually only makes about 5g/12 hours. You can actually purchase a pump to increase the pressure and water O/P

4) You can install it under a sink, or, for aquarium purposes, keep it portable or even install it in the laundry room. You can get a faucet adapter or garden hose adapter.

5) I don't think you need to spend $200 for the unit. JMO. SH
