Retailters Sponsorship?

Mods, is this something which you are still thinking of, Paid sponsorships from Retailers? Like a lot of other forums do?

I did contact William about it a while ago, and he informed me that it was something he was thinking of, but nothing was finalised.

I have recently PMd him, but had no reply, and see he dosent get on here much now.

Hi Adam,
The motion is still on the table as it were and is being discussed,
The finer points and a workable plan to encompass both sides of the Atlantic needs to be discussed further.
Without going into too fine a detail we need to be abreast of all the financial implications sponsorship would bring.
This has been an ongoing topic for quite a while now and as Ludwig points out we need to finalise a few things first.
I hope you will bare with us as things progress
We will keep you informed of any further developments

Hi Adam,
I cannot say too much on the subject for now except that this was always and aspect we were looking at. We are waiting on a site upgrade hence the deferred advancement of this particular aspect. it is still on the table so don't worry...it is still firm in our minds among other board enhancements.

Just happened to see this, I just wanted to give my 2cents (hope thats ok) the one thing I don't like about some of the other sponsored forums is that you aren't allowed to mention or promote etc other nonsponsors which Ps me off a little. Paticularly when all you are doing is give some advice on good products etc.
If you had sponsors would this be the rules on here aswell?

Yes i have encountered this before on other forums. It could be an awkward issue really as alot of LFS are localised and don't operate a chain etc so how would it work? Online shops maybe?

Worth looking into though and possibly worth offering providing a long list of rules isn't introduced with it.

we (the mods) know how very, very long this has taken, but we want to make sure that we do it right for us and for every member of this forum. So, the best I can say is that we are still working in it to make sure it is 100%. We aren't going to half-ass this very monumental step. And that once we do get it just right, you will be one of the very first we contact.

Sorry to bump this again guys, but if its not going to happen in the next few weeks would it be possible to let me know? As ive reserved some of our advertising budget for this, which I will otherwise spend.

In short, Adam, in all probability we aren't going to be ready to in the immediate future. I'd use that reserved money for other advertising if the opportunity presents itself to do so. Again, we're going though all the legal-eeze and steps to make sure that it is done right in the first place.
