Was thinking of buying another tank this morning to house my Bn pleco because hes wrecking my 29g planted tank.

I find it amazing that the BN pleco is tearing things up so bad! I had 7 plecs in a planted aquascaped 29g, they did nothing to tear things up.... when they started spawning, early, I moved the adults mostly to a 55g. Only reason I can think that yours is tearing up your tank is he is hungry

My BNP does that all the time. He will dig in the sand and rearrange plants and such. It’s funny to watch, lol.

I'm kinda hoping that mine will do the same, like lawn mower. I've got sand so that is a hope for a lawn mower disaster lol

They have no malicious intent. Their eyesight is very poor and they find food by smell. That is why they seem clumsy. I am careful where I feed (which part of the tank) and accept that there are some places where I cannot have plants so when mine does uproot something I re-plant somewhere else. Of course this becomes tougher as your planted area grows. It is the reason why I have some intentionally bare patches in my tank.

FWIW I don't think of my BN as clean-up crew.

Honestly....his a menace to the fish world . I could of flunged him out the window this morning. Its because ive down graded his cave pad when i rescaped. Hes getting his own back.

Hes not always been like it tbf. I think the extra driftwood ive put in the tank has made him explore more. He digs to get in the postion he wants.

Certainly not hungry, he gets shrimp pellets, algae wafers and blanched veg.
