Rescue Redtail Catfish................10-11Inch

cool he looks awsome

he is thanks....those tenticles are sooo long and they must be sooo sensitive, i opened lid, only dangled a prawn in...out of no where he was there bam, straight down, then another 19 later he still wanted more, finds them in a second, i scattered them all around tank under rocks etc,he found every single one

sounds like a loving relationship already playing hide and seek with your fish

he is amazing though would love to house one of these properly

My LFS has one of these, he's huge! maybe 2 1/2-3ft. He's all on his own with nothing but gravel in a tank in a bay window. Looks like yours will be much happier :)

well i hope he does eventually find a massive home, a nice big tropical pond would be good, i know they get to about 48 inch's in the wild whats their common max size in captivity, about 3 foot? would love one, possibly one of the best looking catfish but the amount of space they would ideally need to be happy is ridiculous!

Yes i hope to find him great accomadtion, least i got some time to locate top notch accomadation...

hes eating very well, took prawns from my hand yesterday and gets very active evening time,,The gills seem to have straightened a little but couldnt say for sure

Bless him. He's cute.
Shame about the gills.
They look ok apart from the curling.
They might go back to normal.

Well done for rescuing him, I absolutely love these fish but could never own one. I dont know if this is any use to you, but I have watched this guys video, he rescues red tails, dont know if he could possibly take on your chap, his set up looks great from the pics.

yeah that rtc guy said hed take my giant gourami then emailed the morning when we was gonna meet halfway saying his car has broke down and he would email to arrange collection but never did but id say hes worth a go still

3=4ft, that's even worse than common plecs! There should be a law to stop such giants being sold in the first place because NOBODYcould posibly keep them in a normal house. What will they sellnext - baby Great White sharks, sOOOO cute when newborn only 10 in long!
I have a smilar problem myself, just adopted 3 unwanted map turtles that will grow to 1ft each and were going to be dumped in a canal
